Family Day Weekend in Whistler!

I know many of you, by now, have already seen these photos, but I am using the photos from this mini family vacation as my reason to post and blog again! Must get back in to the habit. Here goes!

We arrived on Saturday and enjoyed two days of beautiful sunshine, but not much snow!

All geared-up and ready to go

One of Miles' favourite winter activities...a coffee shop visit!

On the playground in the Olympic Plaza

Our final day was full of snow. Kids were thrilled.

He doesn't yet know what he is in for. I am doing my best to try and remember what we're in for!  Haven't skied in about 20 years.

Ski break at Milestones.

We skied to the secret Tree house on Whistler.  Next trip, will try skiing to the Enchanted Castle on Blackcomb.

Taking a break

The sky was an incredible colour. As good as iPhone cameras are, this doesn't quite do it justice.

Exhausted children were asleep within 30 seconds of turning the light out

Sammy did take a bit of a tumble on the ski hill. She ended up with a few scratches on her cheeks (seen here) and a nose bleed. Blood on the freshly fallen snow looked very dramatic which resulted in many people stopping to help us. Thankfully, it wasn't serious and their assistance wasn't required. Once the bleeding had stopped Sammy continued down the hill,  although more cautiously than before.

Child Run 2013

Sammy and I ran in the BC Children's Hospital Child Run. Sammy did a great job running her 1 K. There was on moment when Sammy wanted to stop running, but luckily Moma and Googie appeared at that very moment to cheer Sammy on. Thank you so much to all of those who supported us. Together we managed to raise $620.00. Yay team!!
(Sorry...they're a bit out of order)

Sammy had just spotted Moma and Googie, and then she really started to  fly!

Not too sure what is going on here, but Miles is often grabbing his crotch and he apparently very much enjoys it!

"Where is the siren?"

Miles wouldn't put the helmet on so Moma felt obliged.

Piano Recital

Sammy has been participating in a group piano class this past year at the Vancouver Academy of Music. Sammy has learned to read music, has a very strong sense of rhythm and loves the pattern recognition. Now we have to decide whether she should continue with group classes, or move on to private lessons.

As you can see, Sammy took it all very seriously!
