Eddie (as in Izzard!)

We've taken to calling Miles Eddie these days. Miles is hilariously funny, incredibly smart, and likes to dress like a girl. Sounds like Eddie Izzard to me!

Sammy is playing 'Mom' in the background.

Sammy is most often 'Eddie's' dresser, or should we say stylist!

Spring fun

Miles is pretending it is Spring and sunny by wearing Sammy's sunglasses in the house.

Moma, Trish and Sam at the Eagle Harbour Yacht Club (Caulfield) afternoon tea event

Sammy was very excited because she won a prize for her hat that she had decorated earlier in the week with Moma.

Happy Easter

We've had a rather strange Easter weekend. Miles, Sam and Brad have all been suffering from a pretty bad belly bug. Miles started it off, and suffered the worst, and then passed it on to the rest of the family. I am the only lucky one who managed to avoid it (knock on wood), despite cleaning up all the mess that comes along with a bad belly bug! We had planned on spending Easter with a group of friends and my parents. Unfortunately, we had to cancel and instead had a quiet Easter this morning with my parents in North Van. The newly recovered bellies were well tested by the consuming of chocolate!

Goodies from Moma and Googie

Let the hunt begin!

Miles calls these little chocolate carrots 'ooh-le-la's', which means umbrellas...his favorite thing!

Playing in Moma and Googie's backyard

My parents have this little wrought-iron umbrella that Miles absolutely loves. Look at the joy on the boys face as he looks at the 'ooh-le-la' with love and sings Raindrop Pop.  I'm starting to wonder if Miles will own an umbrella shop when he grows up. In Vancouver he'd do quite well!

Climbing as usual

Despite the change in Easter plans, we had a lovely day hanging out in the backyard in the warm sun. Just what the doctor ordered!

Mexico Part 2...finally!

He loves being a 'dirty' boy!

Sammy really enjoyed getting all dressed-up for the resort dinners. This night was particularly nice as we were outside and could take our time eating while the kids played. (See the following photos)

Dance moves!

Cool dude!

Sammy's first time boogie boarding. She had a great time, and was out there for quite a while, until she was properly flipped by a wave and felt the fear of not knowing which way was up. She wouldn't go back out after that. It's a pretty scary feeling for an adult, let alone a four year old. Perhaps next year we will try again!

Mexican fiesta night. The mariachi band.

Watching and dancing while everyone around us is trying to get their food. We're lucky that the kids are cute!

After spending the day at the pool, we showered and headed to the airport.  We really pushed our luck by booking an 8 PM flight. Everything went very well until Sammy had a melt down at customs in Vancouver. The guards took pity on us and waved us through ahead of the line, while Sammy was screaming that she wanted to go back to Hawaii..? Ah...sleep deprivation! We finally got home with a comatose Sammy at 4 AM Mexico time. Miles actually slept for a couple of hours on the flight and was the life of the party by the time we got to Vancouver.
